Hello everyone,

I'm elhamisabel on BC and I can't really understand Italian. I'm a German BCer for those who don't know me. I've always wanted to learn Italian but have never managed to do so.
I also wanted to join you lot in here for a long time but I kind of never was able to find you! ;-)
YowlYY told me that you lot are discussing about the World Cup at the moment and I just wanted to have a word with you. So here I am. :-)

Hi darling, welcome here! I read that you'd like to take Gattuso, I guess you should have a talk with Mizzy as she seemed to be taking him as well  (and while you discuss about, do you mind if I take Ballack for me? :P )

It's really nice to have you here! :D

Hi Elhamisabel, welcome!
Maybe you could tell us how's the german feeling about monday's match. I guess a lot of people will support France.

To me, you can take Gattuso but I'm definitely putting Ballack in my wishlist. Who cares about his accent... I don't understand a word in german and I don't think we should waste to much time in conversation

Hi zatie!

You know, Germans are really disappointed that we lost in the last minute. Germany played very well. But then, Italy played a bit better and if they can score two goals in the last minute of extra time, they deserve to win. Really. Nobody holds any grudges against the Italians because they played better. If they hadn't, if they only got to the finaly by way of a undeserved penalty shot or something, maybe that would have been different. But Italy's players were that bit better , cleverer (in a positive way), more experienced and thus they deserved it.
I think nobody really thought we'd make it that far in te World Cup, to be honest. The German team wasn't very good before the World Cup and most of us thought it would be fantastic if we made it to the quarter finals. The quarterfinal match against Argentina was more like a final to us than anything. ;-)
Anyway, Italy won deservedly and I'm sure there are as many France supporters as Italy supporters among the Germans. There may be some idiots who don't want the Italians to win because we lost against them but overall the impression is more that Italy was a better and they deserved to be in the finals.

As to Ballack and Gattuso: yes, you're right, talk is not important. :-D I rely on that as well, I can only speak a few words of Italian. ;-)

Come on, I can't speak Italian but I'm sure the Italian forum is a lot more fun that my post here, right?!

Haha! Italy is World champion! How great is that?!!!
BTW: all Italian newspapers were sold out within 10 minutes after delivery to the biggest newsstand in Frankfurt. And here I was, thinking I could get a copy sometimes in the afternoon... ;-)
