Hello everyone!
I've just registered in your forum. I'm sorry I don't speak Italian (yet). My sister and I are visiting Calabria for holiday in late october. We plan to visit a language course before. We both are really looking forward to our stay!
I once started with a self learner's course Italian but I didn't get very far. I only remember essential sentences like:
Cè un albergo qui vicino?
La camera degli hospiti e occupata.
Un po d'Italiano con un fiasco di vino.
If you are interested in reading German books please check out my
bookshelf !
I hope I will be able to practice my rudimentary language skills once I've started my course!

Herzlich Wilkommen bei uns!
Gerade letzte Woche hat Diotallevi aus Duisburg sich hier gemeldet!
Aber ...unsere Sprache zu lernen beteutet auch sich darin auszuprobieren. Also...
Benvenuto tra noi.

Thank you for your welcomes!
Of course you're right, that learning a language means writing/speaking it. The point is, that I haven't started with my course yet, so I'm not able to post anything reasonable in Italian.
Edited because I forgot to say: I met Diotallevi several times at our MeetUps in Duisburg! It's a small world sometimes!

Hello from me too, and I hope you will enjoy your stay in this forum
I will join here potbook saying that the best way to learn a language is to start speaking it
i m m e d i a t e l y after the first sentences and words have been memorised!! I spent 14 years in Germany (

..some people would say:
"Hey, just a second...that was Bavaria, NOT Germany!!!"
) so feel free to check out my availables as well...I've plenty of them in English but also in German (apropos, ich werde in Muenchen vom 8. bis 12. la mia ignoranza in materia di Germania è colossale, ma se per caso non sei troppo lontano da Koln o Bonn magari un giorno ci si può pure incontare!
nel frattempo...benvenuto!

Welcome and good luck with your Italian course!
I'm not able to post anything reasonable in Italian
Don't worry, this problem seems to affect also native Italian speakers among forum members...
I'm sure Calabria in october will be a wonderful holiday!!

Grazie for all the nice words
I hope that the holidays wil be wonderful, I haven't been in holiday for five years then.
I just got out this self learner's course and turned some pages. I really have to listen to the first lections again. The sound of Italian is just awesome. (Ok, it's not hard to beat German in that

)
È un piacere per me to be here
A piú tardi
Katrin
